In A World Full of Whenever

Often I wonder

Life and love make me ponder

Why have things changed so

From long ago

Way back before

Lots more was worth living for

People clung to one another

To one person and no other

No never ending handovers

Over residual hangovers

This century has it twisted

It’s flaws never-endingly listed

We’ve evolved no doubt

But none know what real devotion is all about

Left at the altar

On to the next with a saunter

Very little means much

And as such

The few of us with old souls

Must adapt and hide our goals

Always searching for forever

In a world full of whenever.
